グリーン・デイはサイド・プロジェクトのザ・カヴァーアップスでジェリー・リー・ルイスに追悼の意を表している。
サイド・プロジェクトのザ・カヴァーアップスはビリー・ジョー・アームストロングとマイク・ダーントによって2018年に始まったもので、ツアー・ミュージシャンのジェイソン・ホワイトも参加している。
ザ・カヴァーアップスは現地時間10月28日にロサンゼルスのモロカン・ラウンジでライヴを行っている。
この日、バンドは36曲を演奏したが、その中で享年87歳で亡くなったジェリー・リー・ルイスに追悼の意を表して、“Great Balls Of Fire”も演奏されている。
ジェリー・リー・ルイスは“Great Balls Of Fire”、“Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On”といった曲で知られ、ミシシッピ州デソト郡の自宅で自然死で亡くなっている。
ザ・カヴァーアップスはその他、ザ・キュアー、ラモーンズ、ニルヴァーナ、デヴィッド・ボウイのカヴァーも披露している。

グリーン・デイとエディ・ヴェダーは来年2月にアリゾナ州で開催される野球をテーマにしたイニングス・フェスティバルでヘッドライナーを務めることが決定している。
2023年2月25日・26日に開催されるフェスティバルの初日にはウィーザー、ブラック・クロウズ、オフスプリング、プリティ・レックレス、パリス・ジャクソンも出演する。
エディ・ヴェダーがヘッドライナーを務める2日目にはマーカス・マムフォード、ザ・リヴァイヴァリスツ、マウント・ジョイらが出演する。
グリーン・デイはブリンク182と共に2023年のホエン・ウィ・ワー・ヤング・フェスティバルのヘッドライナーを務めることが決定している。
2022年のホエン・ウィ・ワー・ヤング・フェスティバルは「過去20年のエモとロックの決定版ラインナップ」と評されており、マイ・ケミカル・ロマンスとパラモアがヘッドライナーを務めている。
