アデルは現地時間2月8日にロンドンで行われたブリット・アウォーズ授賞式で3部門で受賞している。
今年のブリット・アウォーズ授賞式は初めてモー・ギリガンが司会を務めており、今年から性別による部門が廃止されており、代わりにアーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞とインターナショナル・アーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞が新設されている。
ジャンルによるカテゴリーも作られており、最優秀オルタナティヴ／ロック賞、最優秀ヒップホップ／グライム／ラップ賞、最優秀ダンス賞、最優秀ポップ／R&B賞が設けられている。
アデル、エド・シーラン、リトル・シムズ、デイヴが最多の4部門でノミネートされていた。この4組に加えてサム・フェンダーがアーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞にノミネートされていたが、アデルがアーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞を受賞している。アデルはアルバム・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞とソング・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞も受賞している。
授賞式ではサム・フェンダー、エド・シーラン、リアム・ギャラガー、アデル、デイヴ、ホリー・ハンバーストーン、リトル・シムズがパフォーマンスを披露している。ドージャ・キャットも出演する予定だったが、新型コロナウイルスに感染したため出演を辞退している。
