アークティック・モンキーズやデヴィッド・ボウイ、コールドプレイらはホワイト・ヴァイナルにプレスされるたレーベルによるサンプル盤がオークションに出品されることが発表されている。
白のアナログ盤にプレスされるテスト盤は、アルバムが正式にプレスされる前に音質などを確かめるためのサンプル用として用いられている。プレスされる枚数はごく僅かとなっており、一般に販売用として流通することはほとんどないことで知られている。
今回、10月12日に控えた「ナショナル・アルバム・デイ」に先駆け、著名なアーティストらの最新作や過去の名作のテスト盤を集めたオークションが現地時間10月5日に開催されることが発表されている。オークションの収益はチャリティ団体「ザ・ブリット・トラスト」に寄付され、音楽教育や音楽を通じた福祉活動のために使われるという。
